Horse Puppets

Another from my current series of finally getting images of past work for my online portfolio. I made stunt puppets for a miniature horse for the film The adventures of Ragtime. One puppet was the back half with all the mechanics for kicking down a door inside a foam latex skin. It actually worked pretty well on the day of the shoot. I also made two head puppets, one for butting things with it's head and one for bitting things and carrying stuff around in it's mouth. Then two leg puppets, one with a workable joint and one that was basically a stick for poking stuff. I was puppeteer on the set too, worked very hard, then the producers skipped town with the film and no one ever got paid. The released it here in the US under the name
Barclay's big adventure... the rat bastards Anyway, all that aside I was proud of the work. Getting all of that work done, sculpting, mechanics, fabrication, molds, painting and flocking in just a few weeks and then having everything work *sigh* If anyone finds this film, I wouldn't recommend it, not because they screwed all of us over, but just because it's a whole new layer of suck I didn't know movies could be XD
