This one seems from a long time ago... unfinished, it might just stay that way tho.

I made the treehouse from carved foam with epoxy putty on top, the tree is a wire armature covered in foil with a sculpted layer of putty on top as well. the leaves are cut from dyed hand made paper and glued on one at a time (my or my that is time consuming LOL) I'll build a real one some time I hope ;)

omg! yes that sounds very time consuming! congrats for the dd! everything you do looks like a painting and a sculpture as well. very interesting technique, i have never seen something like that

I want one to live in too XD! Yeah, the leaves look like they must have taken forever....very tedious indeed.

I'm currently sculpting a mini Wipeout ship (to be a pendant!)from the anti-gravity racing (video game) series. I'm used to sculpting organic things, and it's tough getting all the sharp angles and symmetry down right. It's allot of fun doing something different though.

Very impressive. Especially deciding to take the individual leaf rout. The look is definitely worth it though.

What did you use for your armature?

Thank you, it just seemed like the best option, tho a bit time consuming ;-)

I think it's a few toilet paper tubes, duct tape, then Magic Sculpt epoxy putty for the detail skin

This is just gorgeous... but if what you say is true - each leaf being individually cut and glued - you are without a doubt gloriously and craftily insane.
(And I mean that as the highest compliment.)
